Federal politics has been decisive for past solidarity movements. In 1988 organizers achieved a 219-211 Congressional vote against Contra funding. More recently, arms embargoes in Spain and Belgium were won because movements successfully pressured progressive federal politicians.

At DSA Convention this year, some delegates questioned whether or not an arms embargo was the right demand and if Israel really needed American bombs to carry out genocide. These 2000 lb bombs were made in January 2025 in Garland, TX - which should answer that question

Good to see @absfarooq on the NPC. Bummed I didn’t get a chance to talk at convention, but we had a good phone call for maybe an hour a few weeks ago and that’s why I ranked him first. Also just had to show that Medicare For All leads the Carnation Program and my wife did too.
