@Carson4545 @MLB @MLBUA @Cubs When is a play ever ruled dead on ball four? If the ball got by the catcher on ball four, can PCA take third? Of course. If he got thrown out trying to take third is he out? Of course. You get a free base but once you establish the base, it's on you to stay on that base.

Whether it was intentional or whether he was trying to do something doesn't really matter. The runner gets one base without liability. He got his base and came off.

@Carson4545 @Kraft4Prez @MLB @MLBUA @Cubs it’s a dumb rule, but it’s because he came off the base on the slide and was tagged. because he technically came off the bag, he was essentially stealing third, and was tagged out on the next play. again dumb rule, but that would appear to be the official rule/explaination.

@Carson4545 @MLB @MLBUA @Cubs It's no different than if they pulled a hidden ball trick. He gets 2B on the walk. But once he touches 2B and then leaves 2B, he can be tagged out. That's what happened.

@be_shouldnt @MLB @MLBUA @Cubs i mean yes he was out if it wasn’t ball 4, but he hadn’t touched the base yet on ball four. so your telling me if a player slides into second base, not knowing it’s ball four, and clearly the umpire said “ball four” so he can’t leave the base after he slide in 100 miles an hour?

@Carson4545 @MLB @MLBUA @Cubs That call made no sense. I didn’t see a shot of him being tagged after getting to second. All I saw was tagging prior to reaching the bag which was nullified by the walk. Was there a shot of him being tagged after?
