@DakotaDinos @SharkLarkPlays @TazzG_STP @jerseyarchive @MichelleSichak @YinkaDiz @JordanDye I actually know Mark and saw him two weekends ago. I’ll show him this. He would think it’s cool.

The original Timberwolves "Shep" logo was created via an open contest. It was submitted by Mark Thompson of Austin, MN. With that in the history it only seems right that they return to a fan-made design. Based on suggestions over the last 2 days; I have made some updates/adjustments to my 2016 design. Let me know what you think!

@brown260 @SteveThomsonMN That’s awesome. I’ll look him up. Sneaky one also is the old Timberwolves guy. Rod Johnson
English

@ChaseRayman @SteveThomsonMN I’d have to give it to Dick Stanford (deceased). He was the PA announcer for the North Stars and did many MSHSL state tournaments. I can still hear him and he was glorious.
English

@tlschwerz What? They don’t have two studs and have played well without them. You know what you’re pretty bold with your takes, how good of an athlete were you?
English

@lashala_04 @TonyLiebert You know what you’re right. Have a good weekend.
English

@ChaseRayman @TonyLiebert And they won so there is no “would have been” 🤷🏽♀️…positive vibes only
English

@lashala_04 @TonyLiebert They had a great season and earned their seed but you need to build up competitive equity. That would have been a bad loss when your at home against a 13 Seed.
English

@ChaseRayman @TonyLiebert What would make it a disaster though? First time making the tournament since 2018, first time hosting since 2004, I think these girls have had a great season and fought hard! Can we give them some kudos rather than bringing them down? Sheesh
English

@lashala_04 @TonyLiebert They play like this next round it will be. Impressive 4th. On to the next.
English

@purplepride612 @TonyLiebert Yeah that was too emotional. They have a good class coming in but this would be a bad loss.
English

@chipscoggins This is ugly. They beg for fans to pack the place and this.
English

@DoctorLemma He had a nice looking shot! Awesome stuff. Never gets old watching it.

19 years ago, a high school basketball coach put his team manager into a game for the final four minutes. The kid had never played a single minute of competitive basketball in his life. He scored 20 points.
Jason McElwain was diagnosed with severe autism at age two. He didn’t speak until he was five. He couldn’t chew solid food until he was six. He wore a nappy for most of his early childhood. As a baby, he was rigid, wouldn’t make eye contact, and hid in corners away from other children.
He tried out for his school basketball team every year and got cut every time. Too small. Too slight. Barely 5’6 and about 54 kilograms. But he loved the game so much that his mum called the school and asked if there was any way he could be involved. The coach created a team manager role for him. For three years, McElwain showed up to every practice and every game. He wore a shirt and tie on match days. He ran drills, handed out water, kept stats, and cheered every basket like he’d scored it himself.
On 15 February 2006, the last home game of his final school year, the coach let him suit up in a proper jersey and sit on the bench. With four minutes left and a comfortable lead, the coach sent him in.
His first shot missed. His second missed. Then something shifted.
He hit a three-pointer. Then another. Then another. His teammates stopped shooting entirely and just kept passing him the ball. He hit six three-pointers and a two-pointer. 20 points in four minutes. The highest scorer in the game. When the final buzzer went, the entire crowd rushed the court and lifted him onto their shoulders.
His mum tapped the coach on the shoulder, in tears. “This is the nicest gift you could have ever given my son.”
McElwain won the ESPY Award for Best Moment in Sports that year, beating out some of the biggest names in professional sport. He’s 36 now. He works at a local supermarket, coaches basketball, has run 17 marathons including five Boston Marathons, and travels the country speaking about never giving up.
When asked about that night, his coach still gets emotional. “For him to come in and seize the moment like he did was certainly more than I ever expected. I was an emotional wreck.”

@CharlieWaltonMN They don’t have it. I am a 6 yr season ticket member and I have lost some interest as of late. They play uninspired basketball with no real identity. Just seems like we are stuck in neutral and justified or not, coach Finch needs to feel some pressure.
English

There is no figuring out this Wolves team.
It’s mid-March. They’re sixth in the West and still struggling with maturity, focus, and ball security.
The fact that those are still points of concern makes it hard to believe in this team’s title aspirations:

@JonKrawczynski I feel a touch of Mellon collie with this team right now. Kind of bored with it as the team seems to be. This isn’t a team that will go far in the playoffs at this point. Something has to give.
English

@Carter07067867 @TheDailyWolves It’s becoming concerning. Something has to give.
English

@TheDailyWolves I ask you again. What the actual hell do they do in practice and film. It is the same damn issue every single game. Turnovers and effort. How can you not get someone to motivate the team enough, bunch of mentally soft losers man
English

@DWolfsonKSTP @BunjBKM Just too many warts with this squad. Have a hard time mentally locking in….constantly up and down.
English

@BunjBKM Disagree. Solid roster, not one that can win 16 games. They can go a run to excite many, but not into mid-June, IMO. They chased KD and Giannis for a reason.
English

This roster can ABSOLUTELY win an NBA championship. The problem with this team has ALWAYS been inconsistency. That is a coaching problem... Period.
Roster usage, rotations, time management have all been problems with this team. That is why we need a coaching change.
I can tell you love Finch Doogie, but it's time to find a guy that utilizes the entire roster.
