I wish I lived in another time, Another heart, another rhyme, A world that starts—and ends—with you. If dreams could bend the threads of fate, I’d cross the stars; I wouldn’t wait. In that life, so pure, so true, I’d find my home in loving you. 🎨 Picasso

🎶𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 ✨
🎶𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐃 – 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐥 It’s as simple as three violins, one cello, and eight bars of music repeated 28 times – but Johann Pachelbel’s Canon in D has risen in popularity to become one of the best-known pieces of classical music ever written.

@conno2856 It might not stand out at first, but it’s all there: St. Helena, Les Invalides, Waterloo, Leipzig—and even echoes of Tolstoy’s War and Peace.

@conno2856 Yes, exactly—simplicity is the essence in Matisse’s work, and it speaks the most. And I wanted my poem to be just as simple.😇

@ChauchatMs I adore this style of Matisse! And one of his best images, with his dancers. A lover of simplicity of form

@conno2856 Ah yeah… 🫠 Well, we’re definitely allowed to dream a little—life back then… in high society would’ve been the best. For sure 😆

@ChauchatMs Yes there is soo much interest around the time, different society and a closeness to beauty and discovery. Providing I was in the upper classes I too would love to visit for a period 😆

Crépin, French. Painting- Shipwreck off the coast of Alaska. 1806. Depicting the La Pérouse expedition, ordered by King Louis XVI and led by Jean-François de La Pérouse that ended in the drowning of 21 sailors wrecking its initial ambitions of discovery during the enlightenment.

@conno2856 I agree. Reason seems like our best tool, even if it can’t explain everything—and I find people who were truly passionate about what they did, especially in the 18th (and even 19th) century, really inspiring. I kind of wish I could have lived back then.🫠

@ChauchatMs Yes, though I am glad for quite a bit found during the enlightenment 😇 and reason seems to be the best bet of the three to figure out more, but I guess not or ever everything 🤷‍♂️
