@Chef1 Kaia Kaipe is 50 metres away if you want somewhere else to try. The food is 95% as good, very similar asador style, but with excellent wine list. Would not recommend instead of, but a nice as well if the opportunity arises

@tweetertucker I don’t think personally it’s the number of awards. The delivery was not great, the Head of Michelin on video not in person bringing one star winners on stage in groups of 4 which is such a big moment for them it should be celebrated, it all felt pretty poor tbh

@Chef1 Think because of recent years of new 2 stars and 3 stars and the introduction to new awards like the green star and the key this year felt underwhelming but sometimes it’s needed to keep the value of these accolades. Perhaps the awards ceremony needs more inspiration though

@scottabmfc I think the overwhelming consensus was it was disappointing on many levels, and could have been a much need boost to the sector and it was very flat!

@Chef1 Shambles. They need someone from the industry to present it. There are so many more 2 stars and a 3 Star that deserved to be promoted. Great to see a lot of new ones stars though.

@rossathome @wyahaw Kerridge Bar and Grill is situated in 5-Star hotel so not really a like for like on running cost, I suspect Tom’s wage bill would be far higher.

@Chef1 OK. Interestingly @wyahaw reviewed Zedel this week, while prices are about half of Kerridges. He rates bothe restaurants 13/20. So whilst staff/diner ratio may be higher at Kerridge and throughput significantly higher at Zedel, low cost good food is possible.

@Chef1 Just looking at the menu which looks great but £21.50 for duck liver pate. £44.50 for fish and chips. Cheese £19.50. Creme Brulee £14.50. You probs dont pay for your meals but it'd better be good.
