The number of girls playing high school basketball is a crisis no one is talking about.
Programs are drying up. Teams can barely fill their rosters.
We can't grow this game if we can't get kids to believe it's worth their time.
What are programs doing to fix this?
Without making a shot, Ben Humrichous was one of the most important players on the floor in the 2nd half.
+16 in his 20 minutes tonight, without scoring the ball. Big time.
“I wish at [my player’s] age, I would’ve gone much deeper into a relationship with Jesus Christ… To me, the most important thing is to God with all my heart, soul, & mind.”

I’m in love with this sentence:
“The degree to which a person can grow is directly proportional to the amount of truth he can accept about himself without running away.”
“Society has gotten soft in a lot of ways... The real world is tough and cruel... I'm preparing my players for life." - Danny Hurley

In my opinion, if Millikin is going to build a winner (like back in the day), they need to hire someone who is committed to staying. They need someone who views this as their dream job...not a stepping stone. Millikin needs a John Baines, Ron Rose, Mike Schauer kinda hire.
I realize that is hard to come by nowadays. But I am confident that person is out there. The right person, with the right commitment, can build a CCIW title contender at Millikin.
In my opinion not worth starting over all the time.

@exdaddio@SchuringDale@NestoHoops *for fear that leftists…and goes without saying, same if roles were reversed. Political views have ZERO to do with coaching. Point remains.
@exdaddio@SchuringDale@NestoHoops So, a coach shouldn’t post political views or express them for great leftists might not like it and get them fired? Nice. Either way that’s incredibly shallow way to look at the world. Prior restraint of speech for fear of retribution- American way.
Just to clarify for anyone who has seen or heard about my resignation. I did not resign because I am retiring. I resigned because I was asked to do so and I will not coach where I am not wanted and where people are actively working against me.
One of the biggest mistakes in writing instruction, and the one I’ve seen in school after school, teacher after teacher, is to mistake volume for rigor.
It does a kid no good whatsoever to write an essay in sixth grade if they can’t piece together a decent sentence.
