@BytesWithAnkit True. From day 1 we must not focus on optimization But as we move in the process we must observe where is the friction and bottleneck And then at that time is the idea time to do the optimization.

optimization from day one doesn’t make sense, it’s overkill. build with a brute force approach, check how the system works. if it’s stable or facing bottlenecks, that’s the time to optimize, not before. what’s your take on this?

I've been building a RAG pipeline from scratch the last few days. no langchain, no frameworks - just me figuring out how all the pieces actually work together. I wrote a markdown parser that walks through folders, pulls out frontmatter, cleans up the content. Then a chunker that splits everything by headings. Embeddings go through gemini's API in batches (because rate limits are real lol), stored in chromadb, and then a generator that builds answers grounded in the actual docs. I could've just pip installed langchain and been done in an hour but I wouldn't have understood any of it. now I actually know what's happening at every step. claude has been my pair programmer through this - helps me understand what I'm building, not just copy-paste code. I will share more details soon.
