@WinkySteve IIRC, Nuts & Bolts was still BanjoX in the code and asset library.

That's right. 'Banjo X' never really got off the ground though. This model is what made me want to do the hard-edged blocky style you see in Nuts n' Bolts. Too soft and boring I thought at the time. Seems people would have preferred this though...
Spenny Ecks@SpennyEcks

@grantkirkhope @mrwater79321297 @WinkySteve I believe this is an animation from 'Banjo X' in 2005—an attempt to revive Banjo before Nuts and Bolts. Not sure if Banjo X got far enough into production for Grant to be composing for it 🤷‍♂️

Nearly 20 years since Viva Piñata came out on the Xbox 360, here are some of the unused tracks (at least I think they're unused!) that I wrote at the start of the game's development before popping back over to finish the Kameo soundtrack. #vivapinata youtu.be/klcxF5Fq3Dg?si…

Hey @grantkirkhope was Banjo X, the proposed remake for Banjo Kazooie/pseudo sequel real? Was just watching YouTube when I came across this and they mentioned an interview with you so I thought I'd go straight to the source.

@Facts_About_BK Yes, both games. Viva Piñata would have had the early ‘cause and effect’ stuff underway for the first animals and Banjo was focussed on how prototype blocks could be built into something and whether the physics engine could deal with it.

@OlieGamerTV Too early on to be caught by the proliferation of mobiles phones with cameras sadly.

@CodingHut Curiousity question, do you by any chance have any images or videos from around that time of those builds? Massive fan of these titles, lead me to start researching into them. It's genuinely been amazing learning about their development along with their forkage from Ghoulies.

@grantkirkhope @TopsmanSLK For a while you could boot up BanjoX and load a scene which was actually Viva Piñata. They both grew out of the Grabbed by the Ghoulies code base.

The Banjo-Tooie wall mounted suggestions sheet was a combination of valuable ideas and petty daftness. What would YOU have written on it?

@StareTimeComics @Ghoulyboy Canary Mary is one of the things that I love the most. Even now I get to explain to people just how easy he is to beat… if you go slowly.

@Ghoulyboy Canary Mary was the worst and laziest gameplay game-mechanic in Tooie.

Glitter Gulch Mine in Banjo-Tooie began life as a Banjo-Kazooie world - but was cut - only to reappear with added Chuffy, Old King Coal and Canary Mary. The games design process is often very dynamic

Our user research for Banjo-Tooie was limited to asking what our games testers thought of the game. How much do you agree with? The ducks of data protection ensure it remains anonymous, even 25 years later!

It's a shame we didn't quite get the time to finish making the 'Bottles Revenge' mode. We did quite a lot of work on it, including the 2nd player being able to control Old King Coal and just hide in a corner of the train's boiler and refuse to fight Banjo

Friends, I've noticed a sharp decrees in views and comments to my posts in the past few days. It seems that Ukraine-focused accounts might be experiencing the same. Do you see posts from me and other pro-Ukrainian accounts in your feed? How are your own engagement rates? Thank you so much for standing with Ukraine, following and sharing information about our fight.

Mr President, your policy towards Russia is not working. While we negotiate, Putin bombs Ukrainian cities. Here is Kyiv today. It is time to change strategy. We and our allies must arm Ukraine to the teeth & we need the toughest sanctions. Putin is mocking you and America.

I have covered presidential politics for 40 years. This was the most juvenile display by a President and Vice President I have ever seen. Other presidents treated their enemies with more respect. This is a low point and a dark day for the US.
