@DrewDeBiasse Drew, I have been following college sports my whole life, Dance is like a club sport in the eyes of mine and many. As such, nobody watches and very few even aware of it going on. Combination of these lead factors allow for no NIL money, be glad they have scholarships!

The University of Minnesota dance team is arguably the most dominant program in all of college sports, and no one is talking about it. Today, they’re competing in the national finals in both Jazz and Pom at UDA Nationals. That’s not an anomaly. That’s the norm. Minnesota’s dance team has won 23 national championships since 2003—the most in college dance history. Year after year, they’re either standing on the top step or right next to it. They’ve produced viral routines (like the 2024 Jazz to Aerosmith’s “Dream On” that blew up with millions of views, even catching Aerosmith’s attention), international gold medals, and a standard that other programs openly measure themselves against. That’s dynasty-level stuff on par with Oklahoma State wrestling (34 NCAA titles) or UNC women’s soccer (21+ titles), but in a niche where they own the record books even harder. This is what sustained excellence actually looks like. And here’s the part worth sitting with: Many of the dancers on that floor today have massive social followings. They drive visibility. Engagement. Culture. Yet they receive no scholarships. No NIL money. No headlines outside their sport. What they have instead is process, pride, and a ruthless commitment to the work when no one is watching.
