The Lower Mainland ICARS unit (#LMDICARS) is located at the BC RCMP Headquarters in Surrey, BC. The unit is responsible for the forensic reconstruction of collisions that result in serious injury or death from Pemberton to Boston Bar.

November 6th, 2025, marks eight years since Constable John Davidson was tragically killed in the line of duty here in Abbotsford. John was a dedicated police officer with 24 years of service, beginning his policing career with Northumbria Police in England before moving to Canada and joining AbbyPD. During his time with our department, he served in Patrol, the Youth Squad, and the Traffic Enforcement Unit - always with professionalism, compassion, and a deep commitment to public safety. Beyond the badge, John lived life to the fullest. He was passionate about football (soccer), actively participated in the Cops for Cancer Tour de Valley, and was known for his energy, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his community. On November 6th, 2017, John responded to a call for service with courage and selflessness, making the ultimate sacrifice to protect others. He was a loving husband and a devoted father to his three children. We remember John not only for how he served, but for how he lived. His legacy continues to inspire us all. A hero remembered never dies.
