It all started around where present day Uganda is, and spread to the whole world, through assimilation and appropriation, with Greek cultural thieves being attributed as originators of what was clearly African religion and philosophy - our heritage. youtube.com/live/QOHxTE70q…

The robust, high-level #CAB3 debate in Parliament showcases both the maturity of our democracy and the competence of our parliamentarians. That same ability to engage deeply with issues is precisely what qualifies them to elect a President.

I don’t post for likes because I am not monetized. When we initially raised opposition and concern over moves to dissolve structures and do away with our constitution, the same individuals who attack me daily were busy cheering the party into a grave. When the party was eventually folded, they started lying that in three months a new party would be formed without us sellouts. Three months became nine months, then one year, then two years, etc. They kept cheering and demonizing those of us who chose to remain in parliament. What they didn’t know was that without party structures and a constitution, there was no chance of effectively mobilizing citizens to resist attempts to amend the constitution. This is why those opposing managed fewer than 3,000 submissions you can’t do such an exercise without structures and a party. This meant that ZANU PF would be able to amend the constitution without an opposition because there was no party and no structure to oppose them. When the same cheerleaders were daily labeling and condemning MPs who remained in parliament as sellouts, I personally requested them to think it through, as the MPs would become important in the future. But no one listened. Most of the MPs are daily told that this is their last term and that no one wants to see them back again. This is so sad. No wonder many of the MPs who are supporting the bill have accepted that this is their last term. This was self-defeating and fatal to the strategy of stopping the bill as the opposition. Now I see the same leaders resorting to circulating clips of MPs who are opposing the bill during debate, falsely creating an impression that the bill can be stopped. The same cheerleaders failed to even submit email submissions. They think daily attacking or asking MPs their position on CAB 3 will stop the bill. No, far from it. We need to self-introspect."

@baba_nyenyedzi Your only point of view is that the vendors are disrupting formal commerce, as if the vendors are not also part of the economy who also need to make their "profit". The truth is that the economy is a mess and an approach is needed to fix the whole economy, including the vendors'

I would like Cabinet, Parliament and council to sit with this photograph for an afternoon. In fact, every high school teacher, whatever the subject, should ask students to write an essay on what they see here. The answers would probably take us closer to the solution to Zimbabwe’s problems than most policy papers. Every boardroom should spend time with it too. For good measure, the Zimra board should take it on a weekend retreat and ask its economists to calculate how much OK has paid in taxes over the past decade. Then they should look again at the pavement outside. I am keeping this photograph for my book.

@DavidColtart @drDendere What about what all MPs received? Maybe you can update, but I seem to remember housing and cars over and above what they are supposed to be paid as MPs? This is why I say all MPs should say they will resign if #Cab3 passes They can then join and lead povo in change. #rejectCab3

Just in case anyone forgets, CCC MP Susan Matsunga received a US$50,000 cash gift and a brand new car from Wicknell Chivayo a few weeks ago. This week she has spoken out firmly in Parliament in favour of #CAB3. If this isn’t inducement then I don’t know what is.

@ropamakumire Did you not also find reason to state that you will resign from Parly. Because it is only when you resign that you will start thinking about rebuilding the or an opposition party to get ZanuPF out of power. You can't do it when your mouth is full of dirty Chivhayo money.

I stand to benefit PERSONALLY from CAB 3. By all selfish calculations, I should support it. Some have whispered, "Take the opportunity while it is there." But leadership is not measured by what benefits us; it is measured by what benefits the people. When I asked myself, WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE? I found every reason to OPPOSE it.

Zanu PF is thoroughly cooked, ready for serving. But if #Cab3 passes all MPs who claim to be opposed must resign from Parly because we will not know who voted for it or against. Those who remain in there, we will know that are there for the $s and perks youtu.be/hKTAY-vJcLU?is…

She did well, but she still has to prove loyalty to the people by stating publicly that if #Cab3 passes she will resign from Parliament not to benefit from an unconstitutional extension of her term. Kore particularly must prove after her Tshabangu debacle. youtu.be/60ZfNsSnPK4?is…

“Africa, if you add up the 55 countries of the African Union, that’s about 1.5 billion people—same size as India, same size as China. The big difference is that the imperial powers divided Africa into 55 little countries, not one of which can thrive on its own, whereas India and China, because of the history, remained. So I tell them every single time I have the opportunity that the African Union is the key. As 55 you can’t make it, but as one African continental economy you can make it. So what’s happening now is Africa’s population is continuing to rise—it’s the only place in the world with rapid population growth—and all the others are declining. Everyone else has peaked or is just about to peak or actually beginning a decline. Africa’s population today is 1.5 billion. By 2050 it’ll be 2.5 billion. That’s a lot, adding a billion people in the next quarter century. If you go even farther and just try to extrapolate based on current trends, Africa’s population reaches about 3.5 billion. According to the UN’s most recent forecast, 3.7 billion by the end of the 21st century. And Africa goes from being 9% of the world population to being more than 30% of the world population. It’s going to be a completely different world. What do I say to African leaders every time? Be Africa-wide. Second, get on quickly with mass education, because that is the key to economic development. Third, look at what China did—follow that model.” —Jeffrey D. Sachs, American economist.✅

@mutsamu @DougColtart Are you going to resign if #Cab3 passes. Or are you going to stay and benefit from an unconstitutional extension of your term. Resigning would send a signal that you are with the people. You can then join in strategising for change, but not when you're eating with the devil.

I couldn't get the chance to debate #CAB3 again today but look Clause 21 seeks to repeal sect 281 (2) on Traditional leaders. Section 281(2) of our constitution was not written by accident. It was written to protect the dignity of traditional leadership. It says chiefs must not be members of political parties or act in a partisan manner. Why? Because once a chief wears party colours, he ceases to be a father of the whole community and becomes a factional leader. Hazvibude .

Retired Lt General Winston Sigauke Mapuranga@SajeniMapuranga

Fellow Zimbabweans, comrades in Arms, and men and women of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces,I have read with grave attention the document that has emerged from the Barracks titled "OPERATION CODE NAMED: PEOPLE'S ARMY". The message is clear, direct, and unmistakable. The Barracks have spoken. As a retired senior officer who served this nation with honour for decades, I salute the courage of the serving senior officers, officers, and NCOs who have put their names, careers, and lives on the line to issue this situation report. They have done what true soldiers must do when the Constitution is being mutilated, when elders are being exploited, and when the institutions we built with our blood are being turned into instruments of personal enrichment and tribal patronage. The document exposes what many of us have watched with growing alarm: The incapacitation of the C-in-C and the capture of state institutions by external forces. The blatant bribery of senior officers with farms, cash, cows, and promises. The erosion of professionalism in the Army, Air Force, and other arms. The dangerous privatisation of state companies and the inflation of tenders. The recruitment of villagers and the sidelining of merit in favour of loyalty to one man and one faction. These are not rumours. These are the observations of men and women still in uniform who took an oath to defend the people and the Constitution, not to protect individuals or their godfathers.Let me be clear: The Barracks have spoken. They have drawn a line. They have said they will not be used to mutilate the people's Constitution. They will not salute self-promoted generals who have abandoned the customs and traditions of the ZDF. They stand with the people of Zimbabwe. To the serving members of the ZDF: Remain disciplined, remain professional, but above all, remain loyal to the Constitution and the people, not to individuals who have lost their way. History is watching. The people are watching. To the political leadership: The game of divide-and-rule, bribery, and extension of power at the expense of the nation must stop. The soldiers have told you plainly they are tired of pathetic conditions of service while billions are being looted. They will not do your dirty work.Aluta Continua. The voice of the Barracks is the voice of the institution. Let those who have ears hear. Retired Lieutenant General Winston Sigauke Mapuranga.

Marketeers know that British racists are most gullible. So give them the props they like, like Nigel Garage, to front scam investments. They fall for it because of Farage. What a telling story! But what could be a real story is if Farage is on it. Otherwise why is he not suing.
