Proposal also redundant to Blue Line terminus at NLTC as it interlines with Orange in voter-approved #ProjectConnect map. Changes would direct Gold Line high capacity transit toward West Austin and away from potential northeast Austin extensions, termini & those communities. 4/4

The concern is that this redundancy, that is serving the same corridor and same phase one terminus of the Orange Line, may effectively capture 2,700 trips which would enhance the Gold Line's FTA project rating at the expense of previously-planned, voter-approved FTA projects. 3/

Remember last May when @TxDOTAustin imploded this flyover from NB I-35 to NB US 183, closing it for months, to extend it?
The flyover is going to close again for up to a week in June as crews make adjustments to "smooth the ride" on the flyover, a spokesperson tells @KVUE.
