🧵 🪡 Those are just few examples for Martinique specifically, not to mention the proper resistance and dynamics within other territories under France’s thumbs, and the interactions amongst one another. It might be about time to connect outside of the french speaking confinement

France has a long history of repressions post-abolition. Martinique has a long history of resistance : September 1870, February 1900, May 1925, André Aliker, 1943, March 1948, the Basse-Pointe workers, March 1951, March 1956, December 1959, March 1961, Ojam, Guy Cabort-Masson👇🏽

asking for a friend… I know peas are big in caribbean food, but what about lentils? we love them in Guadeloupe, are we the only ones? I rarely see them in Caribbean food posts. it’s called « lentilles consommées » on y met des condiments et du lard (avec parfois du curry)

In 1959, the CRS (French riot police) killed 3 men in Martinique…an abuse of power so bad they were banned from the island for decades. When you see Martinicans showing anger toward France, know it’s not "entitlement." It’s a response to a history of violence.

@DJ9397 It is a stand alone expression you use just like Awa or the start of a sentence. It can be used when in disbelief and or when told to do something you are not happy to do.
