My dad once told me that when he moved to Lagos in 1988, the first house he rented at 101 Powerline Orile-Agege was owned by a man named Mr. Ajakaye.
Instead of giving him a fixed rent, the landlord simply asked, “How much do you have?” my dad was shocked.
It didn’t stop there. Anytime my dad had a new child, this man would waive the rent for that month and the next two months. In fact, from the moment he heard my dad was planning to move into his own house in 1996, he stopped collecting rent entirely.
I often wonder if that kindness is what shaped my dad’s own generosity. He ran his house like a form of charity while he was alive and I’ve continued that legacy. For almost 8 years now, I haven’t increased the rent for the tenants in his house, despite how much things have changed.
The internet is a big place, but I just want to say thank you to that man Mr. Ajakaye. He was truly special, and I hope this message somehow reaches his children.

An American bank partnered with a Nigerian man to launder $308 million of Nigerian government money.
The money left Nigeria through American banks. It then sat quietly in a shell company for years while the man lived comfortably in Texas.
In 2003 American authorities arrested him. He spent six months in federal detention in the United States waiting to be tried.
Before the trial happened he offered to return $163 million.
America accepted. He flew back to Nigeria.
Nobody questioned him. Nobody charged him. Nobody prosecuted him.
He ran for Senate and won. He ran for Governor and won. He ran for Governor again and won.
America returned the $308 million his operation had laundered.
The new president then put him in cabinet.
America did not trust Nigeria with the $308 million.
They tied every dollar to three specific roads. Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Abuja-Kano Road. Second Niger Bridge.
They even included a clawback clause. Misuse one dollar, pay it all back.
Why the conditions? Because previous loot returned to Nigeria had already disappeared.
Nigeria's own government told the court they had no record of how the earlier billions were spent.
A man who laundered billions is currently Nigeria's Minister of Budget and Economic Planning.
He decides how Nigeria spends its money.

Start talking to your families, neighbors, go to schools, churches, mosques, even in your place of work. Anywhere you find yourself, use that opportunity to at least talk to one or two people to stop selling their future for bag of rice. Plead with them to be reasonable and make them understand we deserve better.
Let them understand that for every bag of rice the Polithiefcians give to them, they steal 5 billion Naira from our wealth to make up for the bag of rice.

So this Muslim guy came to my DM and said I’d be fuel for hellfire, and that honestly, more Christians shouldn’t even convert… because we’d just increase the fuel supply in Hell. 😂
So I said, “Wait… didn’t your own scripture say everyone, including devoted Muslims, will enter hell first before Allah removes whoever He wants? Meaning paradise isn’t even guaranteed for you… and we’ll both be in the same place at some point. So what exactly am I converting for?”
He asked for proof. I showed him.
He said, “No, it means pass by, not enter.”
I said, “Alright, let’s go deeper.”
I pulled up the Arabic, the tafsir, and what scholars said, everything lined up.
At that point… silence.
This brother started searching for an escape route. 😭
Then I asked him:
“So after all the struggle on earth, you still go to hell first before maybe making it to paradise… does that even make sense to you?”
He replied, “I can’t question Allah. He is all-knowing and merciful.”
I said, “I hear you… but deep down, does it make sense?”
He paused and said, “I need to do my research on that… i am not a scholar, and haven’t come across it”
And I’m like, wait… but you memorized the Quran in Arabic but you’ve never come across this? 😅
That’s when it hit me: a lot of Muslims can recite the Quran perfectly… but don’t actually understand what it is saying.
