Ms Jesca Alupo, the Vice President, together with Ms Robinah Nabbanja, the Prime Minister, joined hundreds of Catholic faithful on Sunday to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Mt. Sion Prayer Centre in Bukalango. Before the Thanksgiving Mass, which was led by His Grace Paul Ssemogerere, the Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese, Ms Alupo commissioned and handed over the keys to a convent and bookstore constructed by the government, to church leaders. Beyond the colonial border, the people of Aru and Arua are one—Arua is simply how the Lugbara pronounce Aru. More strategically, our vision of building Arua City into the region’s leading business hub requires strong relations with the people of Eastern DRC —and we are out to build it.

The emphasis on discipline, wealth creation, fighting corruption, and aligning with the national development agenda has left a lasting impression on all of us. The lessons learned here will undoubtedly guide us as we begin our legislative journey, ensuring that we effectively represent our people and contribute meaningfully to Uganda’s transformation. My team and I joined the Palm Sunday celebrations at Sts. Peter and Paul Seminary, Arua (Pokea)—my alma mater (2013–2016). Returning was personal - this is where character was shaped and a boy began his journey into manhood. I also had the honor of speaking to the seminarians.
