In my devotions today the writer talked about the difference between how God dealt with a sin by Saul, And a sin by David. Saul’s sin was being impatient and not waiting for Samuel to arrive and do the sacrifice that only the high priest was allowed to do before going into battle against the Philistines. David’s sins, murder and adultery. Saul was impatient and lost the throne for his family, David slept with Bathsheba, and had her husband placed in battle where he was sure to be killed and the Messiah came from his line. Why? When Samuel confronted Saul, he blamed his enemy, his army and even Samuel, he never took responsibility for his sin. When Nathan confronted David, he was truly repentant and begged God for forgiveness, also in an act of repentance for his acts he wrote Psalm 51. God rewarded David’s acts of repentance, and punished Saul’s blaming everybody else
