First, it's just a basic question; how did the universe come to be? This question lead me to the answer that God is necessary for existence, but how I got there is through a series of revelation: 1. By observing our universe and the reality it sits in we clearly see order, hierarchy, complex functions, structure, and precision—it is logical. No illogical, disorderly and/or random phenomena of natural occurrence could've done such a thing to such an extreme degree, there's too many coincidences. The probability of such a thing happening is comically absurd, 1 in ~10^(10^(10^(10^122)))—near 0. Natural selection only filters after life and self-replication exist. It explains nothing about the origin of the universe, the laws of physics, or the initial conditions. 2. On top of this we know that the universe is all natural and all material; the natural and material cannot create nor sustain itself, it needs an external source that is greater than it for it to come to be. The universe is entirely contingent and finite—it doesn't justify it's own existence. 3. This leads to the conclusion that there is something that was before the universe's existence, that was powerful enough to create it. There was something before matter, something before time, something before the natural and material ever existed. The only source that can properly exist before such things is something that is greater than them, something that is supernatural rather than natural, immaterial rather than material, eternal (omnipresent) rather than bound by time, powerful enough to create all of existence, and precise and rational enough to create order. The only proper cause that satisfies this, is an intelligent designer—God. 4. Every explanation that doesn't involve God ultimately comes down to an effect with no proper cause, and falls into an infinite regress. Every naturalistic explanation either loops forever or ends in an unexplained "just is" (which is no explanation at all). Intelligent design (God), is the only explanation that has such a proper cause without infinite regress while remaining logically consistent. The evidence is in the logic, nothing else is sustainable.
