@c_johnes @BCTWales Yep, & same here with our tiny little solidarity fund, offering cash gifts. We noticed too a general increase in giving, sharing & getting involved in stuff. I really feel for parents these days whose children think a service provides Christmas. What does that do for dignity?

Would people be more or less generous if we asked for cash to go directly into peoples hands to sort themselves out at Christmas - food, bills, clothes, gifts, pyjamas? Would the giver feel as charitable? Could the giver trust the receiver?
