Did a #PhD transfer viva today (1st yr to 2nd) and both examiners ended up telling stories of our rocky starts. Mine was that I got sent primers with no Gs in them. Eventually got the PCR from genomic DNA working and cloned it blunt ended to find out when I sequenced it!
