Hey everyone this is a new account that I’ve been wanting to do for awhile now. It’s gonna focus on doing something similar to what @Ostate_Daily does for baseball with the longer posts and break downs but it will have some criticism and quick reactions. I know the season just ended and it’s an odd time to start but I’m gonna take it as a time to trial and error and try a few different ways of making posts. If you have any recommendations or want to see anything specific let me know. I have no journalism or media experience and all ideas are my own. I will use this space to mainly just jot down all the thoughts that go through my own head as the season went on and as the offseason plays out.

This is wild. Thank you everyone who makes this fan base so special. Since I started following Cowgirl softball 2022 everyone I have met in or around the program has been nothing but welcoming.

I think the hope is to maybe not have the traditional ace that eats a bunch of innings like the last couple years. I think Kenny and Co. are very high on the two freshmen arms and smith who didn’t really pitch with elbow surgery last year. I know we were hunting a veteran arm who could be the “ace” and help the youngins get settled in to the college game. Two of the transfers are considered two way players but their pitching stats leave something to be desired compared to their offensive stats tho.

@SportsBanter88 Totally Agree and if they use her like they did Maylan she will not last as they used Maylan until her arm fell off and it showed by the Nebraska w/ all the innings she pitched this season.

Not a bad get for State, she’s good but no Ruby. She shut down OU who were not prepared for her at all because she hardly pitched all year. BUT when she played in WCWS & Texas had video on her they lit her up like a Christmas Tree. So we’ll see how it works out for them!

Delaney Everett comes via Mississippi State where she’s most well known from blanking little brother down south to send State to the WCWS for their first time ever. Woof. This isn’t who I think everyone is talking about but if Kenny can pull this off along with the other player I’m think about our lineup and defense will be very stout.

@softballokstate @AR_PokeOG Less innings on terry, more options than two pitchers, a very different look from heav and terry….. money talks idk the pitch had to be stellar or the opportunity to cruse to a possible title

@softballokstate @rlawyer212 Both nutter and and Zach’s are from SEC schools and had more recognition coming outta HS than Hailey would be 95% of why they were higher.

@rlawyer212 @DiamondPokes But the top 10 left on the board had pitchers at 6-7-8 and hailey was 8- so they had nutter from kentucky at 6 and zache from ou at 7

From what I gathered we’re chasing one arm since both Lewis and Hartley have the ability to pitch we didn’t wanna burry the younger arms. I’m assuming Hailey was the one we where chasing and tech came in late with a big offer to keep her from transferring to another in conference school we wernt the only ones pushing I believe. Most of this is speculation since I never heard anything on tech pursing her

@DeanneMcginley I agree there wasn’t a ton but someone with some true experience i believed was a must and I thought Hailey would’ve slotted in nice to the rotation. I’m excited about our young arms but there’s definitely I need for a proven commodity.

@DiamondPokes There wasn’t much to begin with. Could be a rough year for a lot of teams. Thinking our new plan is to just score more runs. Go Pokes!

Due to construction activities, there are no scheduled activities for Olsen Field this summer. We don’t get open opportunities like this often so we’re using this as a chance to fraise mow the field and get a nice reset on the 21-year-old outfield surface.#Cleanitout

We’re sitting at 3 open roster spots started the portal with 21. Currently net +1 in the portal so 3 open slots I don’t see us starting next year full though. Theres still atleast 2 we’re working on I believe but there have been some more pitching enter the portal in the last 2 days.

@DustinBledsoe @DiamondPokes @KendraLewis2024 Had 2 leave via the portal, and 7 out of eligibility I think 5 or 6 incoming Frosh. I think we can have 4 more but to match last years team numbers only 2 more.
