Maradona had eyes in the back of his head and an ability to make incredible assists that Messi doesnt have. In other respects they are similar. Messi is much better at using short passes with teammates. Maradona was much better at longer passes that fell the exact spot his teammates needed them to score. I hate how Maradona became a stooge for Castro later in life, amd Messi has a much more balanced and normal life. But Maradona was the better soccer player. And he played at a time when soccer was a tougher sport. He had to handle the ball and jump over the defenders trying to break his legs. His leg was once broken so badly that he was not expected to play again and he came back from it. FIFA also gated him with a passion, while they love Messi. Having the hatred of FIFA adds one point for me.
