The Founding Fathers never gave us the right to secession, as they knew anytime we'd have an election or a recession we risk the country ripping itself apart. Instead they gave us the right to bear arms, so, should the need arise, states can have a chance to fight for secession.

A very under mentioned warcrime in the aftermath of WW2 was the Soviet Genocide of Ethnic Germans from Eastern Europe, most of whom's families had lived there for hundreds of years. Over 14,000,000 Ethnic Germans were forcibly displaced, and up to 2,500,000 were murdered.

I hate the Nazi regime as much as anyone. It was bad for the USA to kick the Cherokee, the Iroquois, and the Sioux out of their land. So why isn't it an even bigger crime to kick the German inhabitants of Konigsberg out of their own homes without recompense - houses their ancestors had made and lived in for centuries - and hand them over to Russians who had never lived there and did nothing to deserve it.

@SandyofCthulhu The worst part is that they have almost no warm water ports, which you NEED for a big Navy, and the only one's they do have, St. Petersburg and Sevastopol, are easily cut off from the open ocean by rivals and enemies.

Russia is like the worst possible shape for a naval power. They have five different seas bordering them and in no case can any of them support each other. To have a naval presence they'd need five completely independent fleets (which they have). If I was designing a fantasy world, I wouldn't dare design a nation as ridiculous as this.
