For instance, my disability effects my arms, and using voice enabled typing doesn't work in certain softwares. My university paid someone for 300 hours work to type for me. I was surprised I could get that level of support and massively helped me.

My mom has a disabled kid in her class and is teaching the kids it’s ok to say “disability” because “my daughter is a disability advocate and her community says it’s ok!”

@sgeekfemale @PhDVoice @AcademicChatter In the ones I have applied for, it asks if you have a disability and for further information, but you have the choice to answer or tick "prefer not to say". I was curious if anyone had chosen this option!

46 votes and almost 4 out of 5 working weekends due to our disability. I admit to doing this myself - but we really need to be kinder to ourselves 💗

I just noticed that none of the major EDS charity websites has a page or info for how to handle EDS patients in an emergency. What are some tips you'd like doctors to consider as a heads up for us in the ER / A&E? I'll give a couple examples next but could use more...

I would rather have a compassionate system that a few people took advantage of, than a harsh system that allows people to die because they happen to be poor.
