Watching highlights this morning, it appears most L1 clubs fielded strong teams and got results. Feels like an opportunity missed for #readingfc given the N’ton cancellation. On the + side, Marriott is an upgrade and Ritchie will help with our lack of creativity to date

Have seen enough from Ritchie in this cameo already to know he’s going to be a regular this season once match fit. See’s passes others don’t and great communication #readingfc

However, Selles initially played him as one of the wide players which was a criminal misuse of his talents…but not worse than giving him 0 minutes 🤯

This is far from the only problem in the team currently. It is the easiest to fix though. This time last year, Sellés had Elliott as a nailed starter before his injury. Baffling selection atm. #ReadingFC

@b_c411 65 minutes before making a change isn’t acceptable. 10 minutes in it was clear Fraser should be replaced. Elliott doesn’t even get on the pitch - I’d love to watch a few training sessions to understand why. Still no identifiable playing style. Very worrying times

Was very impressed with Doyle last night. There has been some conversation about whether he would take a wide spot or a central one, but he seems ideal for the #8 role if we stick with 4-3-3. He's the Knibbs replacement, and should start alongside Elliott. #ReadingFC

@b_c411 Completely agree, was completely wasted on the wing under Selles. We missed his passing and dribbling ability from deep last year when injured. Once he gets back up to match sharpness he’s going to be key for us this year.
