Transcorp Hotels made ₦7 billion in profit in just 3 months. January, February, March. That is one quarter. They did not discover oil. They did not launch a new product. They simply run hotels, event centres, and hospitality services. Things you already use and see every day. Their full year 2025 revenue was ₦97 billion and they paid shareholders ₦1.20 for every single share they held. That is called a dividend. The stock market paying you just for owning a piece of a company. This is why financial education matters. While most people walk past Transcorp Hotels as a customer, investors walk past it as part owners collecting profit. Same building. Two completely different relationships with money. When students from the richest countries in the world need loan to go school, it is now students from Nigeria that don’t need loan to go to school, yet they want to compete in the same global economy as students educated in the UK and US?
