The sun shone on the Edinburgh Festival Carnival yesterday. The costumes were colourful and the music was fantastic #Edinburgh #edinburghfestivalcarnival #carnival @EdinburghLive_ @EdFestCarnival

They joined musicians from 10 countries to create Samba Beatz an 80 strong new commission for drummers and dancers. Edinburgh’s young samba group Pulse of the Place joined the project during its workshop phase. Funded by the PLaCE fund which supports Edinburgh’s Festivals.

Check out the performers taking part in the Carnival Parade, which runs along Princes Street from 1pm, and take a look at the programme of events in Princes Street Gardens, running from 3pm. We will bring you more information in the coming weeks as we build up to the Carnival!

We are currently working on plans for 2021, placing the safety of our participants and audiences at the centre of everything we do. We look forward to sharing plans with you but, in the meantime, we'll be sharing lots of Carnival memories to brighten up the Winter months.
