1️⃣ About the dish
🥧🍘 A unique cake of the Teochew people in District 5 that I have just witnessed. Looking at the giant super-sized pan of Mrs. Lan Anh, I feel it's prestigious. The pan seems to be made of iron, the outer layer is yellow, and the inside is flexible, so it looks prestigious. She will evenly turn the dough and keep it on the hot fire so that the glutinous rice does not burn or become cold and hard. I find it quite sophisticated because she has to stand and watch all the time. A portion costs 15k, and when you buy it, she will cut it into small pieces, and you can choose to dip it with peanuts or black sesame seeds with sugar. When cutting, she stretches it up high, making it look like pulled cheese, which is quite attractive. After buying, open the box and eat it right away while it's still hot to clearly feel the flavor. The outer layer is light yellow, crispy, and the inside is soft and sticky. The glutinous rice is fragrant, slightly sweet, with the smell, richness of sesame, and peanuts, which is quite mouth-watering. Personally, I prefer the sesame flavor, it feels more harmonious somehow. But in general, try this cake to know, I find it quite unique.

At present, she sells from 7 a.m. in front of the Eastern Medicine store at 184 Luong Nhu Hoc. Around 11 a.m., she will push her cart to the front of Quan Am Pagoda on 12 Lao Tu Street, District 5, and after 12 p.m., she will continue to push it near Dong Nguyen Chicken Rice on Nguyen Trai Street, District 5.
