Die Rede von Marco Rubio war eine vergiftete Liebeserklärung. An dieser Rede war überhaupt nichts beruhigend. Rubio hat zwar einen anderen Ton gewählt als US-Vizepräsident J. D. Vance aber keinen anderen Inhalt und er hat eine Welt beschworen, die nicht unsere ist. Die kollektive Erleichterung, die in dem großen Applaus für die Rede zum Ausdruck gekommen ist, ist ein Trugschluss. Die unangebrachten wie naiven Standing Ovations zeigen, dass ein Großteil derer, die es besser wissen müssten, immer noch nicht verstanden haben, was die Stunde für Europa geschlagen hat.
