Just published the characterization of the reagents used in the widely used neurofilament light (NF-L) biomarker assays. We also found that, surprisingly, these reagents are very useful for immunocytochemical studies of neurodegeneration. See; doi.org/10.1093/brainc…

Our paper characterizing the antibodies of the Uman and Quanterix NF-L biomarker assays has now been peer reviewed and will appear on-line shortly! We also show that both antibodies don't recognize healthy neurons and processes, but do bind degenerating and degenerated material.

We just published a report on an interesting study including descriptions of a panel of novel antibodies which will be useful in future studies of neurodegeneration. The study is available as a preprint now, and is currently undergoing peer-review.
