A Senate delegation led by Hon @UstaNcusta visited Denmark. Accompanied by Ambassador Dr. Diane Gashumba, the delegation engaged with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for discussions centered on parliamentary diplomacy. Key topics included Denmark’s unique Africa Strategy, the forthcoming establishment of the Danish Embassy in Kigali, and the strengthening of bilateral relations, trade, and investment. Regional security and the critical role of Denmark in supporting the EAC SADC peace process in resolving the DRC crisis Additionally, the delegation met with members of the Danish Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee for an open and candid dialogue. Discussions focused on Denmark’s role within the EU Council and the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), emphasizing the importance of reshaping narratives and advocating for African solutions to African problems. Additionally, they engaged with Dalberg Media on the upcoming African-Nordic Health Summit 2025—a partnership led by Dalberg and 11 African Women Ambassadors accredited to Sweden and Denmark. The initiative aims to foster stronger, mutually beneficial health collaborations between Africa and Nordic countries, addressing untapped partnership potential. Ambassadors Margaret Otteskov (Uganda) and @DianeGashumba highlighted the initiative’s impact on forging sustainable partnerships in global health between Africa and the Nordics.
