@JonathanDoidge : This is NOT what the batting doctor ordered! I am not a betting man & I accept you can never really know without having seen both teams batting, but this is looking like a Somerset win within 3 days. This will be a year with few Yorkshire batting bonus points.

@Doidge1Jonathan Looks like being a long season for Yorkshire supporters. But let's hope Hill (a decent all-round player) can dig in. Disappointed at Duke being caught on the boundary.

@Gerashchenko_en @grok I have the time and inclination to read your longer posts and I am happy with their length. But if you want to listen to Grok, how about mixing it up? Some longer, some shorter... Keep everybody happy!

Friends,
You've seen some short and unusual posts from me recently.
I've consulted @Grok and its advice was less long analytical posts (it believes they are a bit boring), and more of "emotionally concise posts with a clear position".
What are your thoughts? Which posts do you like more?

@BoroHistory For the reasons above I'd place Morrison at No 3. How did we only get £1M (I think) for him when we sold him to WBA? You wouldn't get a player who'll play 375 senior games at Permier League level for ten times that amount now! And he was good (obvs).
English

@BoroHistory Not a bad list but I think James Morrison should be higher. 17 games for England's age-group teams, then 46 games for Scotland's full international team; 66 EPL for Boro (3 goals) & 309 in the EPL for WBA (34 goals). His career has been exclusively in the EPL & he has managed WBA

@danamalt That is a rare talent. A bit of a worry for those in Row 18 when they see him winding up for a shot, but he is at least good at coverning ground, closing down, tackling and passing the ball - just not passing it into the net, sadly.

@Dr_TheHistories Apparently a very modest hero (as many VC and GC holders are said to have been) and still remembered well on Teesside.

On D-Day, one man earned the only Victoria Cross of the entire invasion. His name was Stanley Hollis.
A former merchant sailor and lorry driver from Middlesbrough, Hollis landed on Gold Beach on 6 June 1944 with the Green Howards. That morning he charged a German pillbox alone — firing into the slit, climbing on top, throwing grenades — then pushed down a trench and captured a second bunker. Later that day in Crépon, he dragged a Bren gun forward and fired from the hip to draw enemy fire, saving two pinned-down comrades.
The only VC awarded for D-Day. Presented by King George VI. Earned before sunset on the longest day.
