Helen and Jean visited school yesterday to share an assembly on Samaritan’s Purse – Operation Christmas Child. Pupils enjoyed seeing just how much joy the shoeboxes bring to others around the world. 📢 More details about this year’s shoebox appeal will be sent home soon. ❤️💛💚

Prep 4 stepped back in time today to celebrate VE Day as part of their World War II topic this term. The classroom was filled with 1940s spirit as the children enjoyed a traditional wartime tea - spam, corned beef & jam sandwiches, and even a precious square of chocolate each! 🍫

Made for More came to school on Tuesday to deliver their Healthy Minds programme. Prep 1-3 pupils learned how to look after big feelings and Prep 4-7 learned how to best look after our minds! Thank you to the @madeformore team for a great workshop. ❤️💛💚

The sun was shining for our Prep 4 & Prep 5 Summer Hockey Tournament today! Everyone looked the part with summer clothing & accessories. 😎 Huge thanks to coaches Matthew and Ben for all their support. A great effort from all our young players! 👏❤️💛💚

Down Academy of Performing Arts, who run an extracurricular club in school, held a special ‘end of term’ performance for parents in the 1774 Pavilion last week. 🎭 The children entertained their audience with scenes from ‘Wicked’. Our young performers were sensational! ❤️💛💚

Our rugby team had a super afternoon out at the Best Rugby Tournament, hosted by Banbridge Academy and sponsored by Rory and Simon Best. 4/4 wins and great to see progress in exploiting the space and chop tackles! 🏉

Prep 4 pupils visited The Linen Museum today to learn more about life during WW2. They viewed the VE Day 80 exhibition, made spitfire planes and discovered some very interesting information about rationing. A highlight was getting our weekly ration of sweets! ❤️💛💚

Prep 5 had a great day at the Ulster Museum today, learning more about life and work in Ancient Egypt. They also took part in an art lesson which involved sketching some wild animals. Thanks to @UlsterMuseum for a very insightful trip. ❤️💛💚

Prep 1 introduced Fluffy Flappy and Fizzy to Mr Moore. 🐣 Thank you to Blackberry Farm for providing the incubator to allow us to hatch our own chicks. ❤️💛💚

Prep 4 pupils visited Palace Stables, Armagh yesterday to find out about life during World War 2. They made evacuation labels and identity cards but a big highlight was hearing the air raid siren and going into a shelter. A busy day! Thank you to all at Palace Stables. ❤️💛💚

It was lovely to welcome this group of former FSL Prep pupils to school today. They are now Year 14 and are preparing for their exams, with lots of exciting plans for the future. We wish them every success. ❤️💛💚

On Sunday, our swimmers had a great day of racing at the Irish Minor Schools’ Cup & Championships 2025 in Dublin. A huge well done to Alex, Ana, Archie, Charlotte, Emma, Holly, Isaac, Jack, Mariella and Reuben, with Mariella & Archie both reaching finals. We are so proud! ❤️💛💚

Some KS2 pupils took part in an art workshop this morning with Grainne & Sally from Artworks NI. They were creating some props for the Mayor’s Carnival Parade on 10th May. They were delighted to welcome Mayor Kurtis Dickson to who called in to see what they were making! ❤️💛💚

As part of the FSL250 celebrations, the Prep Choir performed in the Friends Gala Concert in the @waterfronthall last night. Our pupils were so excited to sing in such a special venue & to such a large audience. Truly amazing talent from all involved. A night to remember! ❤️💛💚
