There have been a few pockets of happiness in the last couple of months. It’s even hard to even accept them because what do you mean I can be happy through all of this.

Now tell me why even on leave I’ve booked myself to work shifts at the part-time job. The best Christmas would be someone paying off my schools fees and registration fees. 🥹

Since my mom passed, I’ve been taking my gran to her appointments and medication collection. Today we are doing a hearing test and she’s just the cutest with the headphones in the cubicle 🥹🥹

No I realise that my supervisors are probably the sweetest because I would have de-registered after reading this 🥹🤣

Wanting to fill this void but also knowing that thats not dealing with it but just wanting to not feel it.

My best friend, Tebogo, is in her final year of Medicine at Wits, working day and night to become the doctor our world so desperately needs. She’s come so far — and now she just needs a little help crossing the finish line. 💉❤️

Oh and her phone still rings. Can’t even tell you why I keep it on and charged. Sometimes I answer and relive the week of informing everyone of her passing and sometimes I just ignore it

And realising I can’t pick up the phone just to complain about my day to my mom anymore and hearing her just remind me to pray about the tough days

We don’t enough about life after the funeral. When I say I’m taking it one day at a time, I mean it in the most literal sense because I don’t remember what I did or said yesterday or the day before.
