'Germany’s Israel Obsession’ is my new documentary made with the remarkable UK production company @FilmsBlackleaf and co-creator Dan Davies (yes, the same team with whom I made ‘The Palestine Laboratory’ film series.) This 1-hour film is about Germany’s psychotic relationship with Israel, profound anti-Palestinian racism, fetishized Jews, historical amnesia and the surging global far-right. I’ve been thinking about these ideas for years and it’s a privilege to make a hard-hitting, emotional, personal, scary and dark film with a talented crew and team. We filmed this in Germany in May (shot by the super talented Timothy Fadek). ‘Germany’s Israel Obsession’ premieres on @AJEnglish on 11 September (and then will live on YouTube shortly after):

After an overwhelming response by our audience we are screening Ep 2 of the Palestine Laboratory  Journalist and author Antony Loewenstein investigates how surveillance and military technology developed by Israel and tested on Palestinians is marketed abroad. He finds out how the latest Israeli technology is being used to monitor refugees and migrants in Greece and along the US-Mexico border. Loewenstein visits Mexico to explore its use of Israeli spyware and travels to India to find out how a thriving arms trade is fostering close links between the two nations. In South Africa, he uncovers a hidden aspect of the country’s history which saw a secret relationship between the apartheid-era government and Israel centred on a clandestine arms trade and shared values.
