@ProtoBlake Check the wiring between the two nose pieces. Look for loose connections between the wires and the boards.
It's likely the VCC or GND wires. Should be repairable with a soldering iron pretty quickly.

@AerospaceJace I built one in high school with a 3D printed stator and rotor, so apparently any idiot can make a bldc that spins.
It hit 31,000 rpm and exploded, but that's besides the point.

How trivial is BLDC design? can i just glue a bunch of arbitrarily designed wire EDM'd electrical steel stator laminations together, wrap some copper wire around it in the right pattern, glue some magnets to the inside of the housing, and hook up an ESC? or is there a lot of physics behind the scenes with stator armature width/length, wire gauge & packing, etc?
Like if i don't engineer it at all is it the difference between 80% and 85% efficiency or is it the difference between 50% and 85% efficiency
