ILL Destinies A poem by Eric Pellinen Hands that have never touched true horrors belong to eyes refusing to look upon them mouths sounding off counter productive behaviors Of once bright young minds focusing on rearranging realities to fit through misshaped, narrow perspectives Minds faking migraines skipping livelihoods for mere hours sitting inside sports bars no different than their shelters containing flatscreens projecting burning fireplaces with no heat yet soothing sounds to fall asleep Every generation with one thing in common complaining about each other until the ugly destiny greets them all the same way Mystery is the truth unseen, hardly imagined between worlds here and somewhere always the same color light As relative as it can be cohesive translucent and definitely creative to eager misplaced minds guaranteed for an archeologist’s treasured find but never fully, truly known The details are in their thoughts where secrets fade away to become hollow ghosts for another day ILL heartbreaks inspiring thrilling failures and filling dull days for lazy lives Because every destiny has been here before yet appropriate fear repeats itself more and more there’s no good reasons to change unwavering seasons at home’s front door.
