Maggie Lancaster and Nicolette Chambery from the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum gave us on overview of the museum, emphasizing the Museums for All and Pay What you Can Family Memberships. They offer reduced admission rates to encourage attendance by people of all income levels.

This week our GVSU OT interns took a look at the ways children learn through our dino exhibit. Playing with the mini dinosaurs, children develop their fine motor skills. Meanwhile, playing pretend with others in the exhibit fosters teamwork and creativity. #sneakylearning

Today we'd like to say congrats to Lianna & Rachel! Lianna received an Outreach Programming Honorable Mention from the @MichiganMuseums Assoc. and Rachel has been nomiated as the Nonprofit Professional of the year by @ynpnGR . We are so proud of them for the work that they do!

Breaking news! The fire department will be stopping by this afternoon from 3:30 to 4:30 with their truck and their dog, Axle! Come meet a firefighter and this adorable fire dog!

Our new-and-improved To The Rescue exhibit opens in just three weeks! We’ll have a brand new police car, fire truck, ambulance and more! Be the first to check it out on October 24th for the 5pm grand opening!

For the past several years we’ve been adding more amenities to our museum for children with sensory processing disorders like our sensory environment. Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 2–4 we transform our Bigonzo room into a calming, tactile space. This week’s theme is coral reef.
