'Pastoral care is the culture of the school: how it lives its relationships, how it teaches, how it listens and how it learns.' @WellingtonUK has long been considered at the forefront of pupil wellbeing. Deputy Head Pastoral Tom Wayman explains why 👇 ow.ly/rYUL50QvLjW

Worried about your results? If you don’t get the grades, all is not lost. Our editor-in-chief, Ralph Lucas, says it’s the perfect opportunity to explore other aspects of yourself. Here are 5 ways to make the most of a year out - a thread 👇 telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/08/1…

I love The Repair Shop. The team are so skilled and the stories so moving. My Dad loved watching it too and we would text each other about it #therepairshop

@JohnDoe247365 My kid never gets rewards. They turn up, comply quietly (answering questions when asked), go under the radar. The ones to get regards are those who are in the teacher’s face with their ‘amazing’ contributions and those whose behaviour is often bad, small positive steps rewarded.

@GoodSchoolsUK @nicolawoolcock Great idea! I also assume that the reason the highest GCSE grade is currently 9 is so that a 10 (A***) can be introduced in due course just to make sure everyone gets some kind of A. Remember when clever people got Bs?

@teachgratitude1 It took until year 10 for ONE teacher on parents evening to say to my son ‘being quiet works for you so keep going’ - it was a watershed moment for both of us

‘Dead as dead can be’ it may be, but Latin gives people a wide vocabulary in English, a leg-up to study other Romance languages and the clearest introduction to other inflected languages eg German and Russian. Then there’s Virgil and Catullus.... 😍. What’s not to like?
Dr Daisy Dunn@DaisyfDunn

I am so thrilled about this: new £4m Latin Excellence Programme will see thousands of state school pupils in deprived parts of the country offered Latin lessons telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/07/3…
