Important life lesson I’ve learned to be vigilant about: If I see a clip on social media of someone speaking, I require myself to find the full, unedited clip for context. A short clip is often used to fit a narrative and paint a false picture, and when you see the full clip you see that it was edited dishonestly to enrage you. I then see many repost and parrot the narrative, but if they looked into it, they would realize they are parroting a falsehood. I’ve been guilty of that, like many of us, but when I saw the full video of some of the clips I believed to be true, they were eye opening to say the least. Be skeptical of any clip you see that cuts a speaker short, find the context before and after the comment for the full and true picture.
