The 28th Annual Global Iron Ore & Steel Conference is just around the corner in #Perth. Genmin Executive Chair Greg Lilleyman will be presenting at 10:10am this Wednesday, providing an update on the Baniaka #iron ore project

It's been a highly-productive week in #China's Hunan province engaging with key strategic partners including Hunan Valin, SHICO, Metallurgical Corporation of China and Central South University. These discussions mark another important step developing the Baniaka iron ore project.

Our Investment @GenminASX $GEN has just extended the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Baowu Resources Holding for project offtake for its iron ore project in Gabon. Baowu is the largest steel producer in the world - it was also one of the early offtakers in FMG, then known as Baosteel, FMG’s first shipment back in 2008 was delivered to them. A China Baowu Steel Group subsidiary has re-signed and extended its existing offtake MoU for #Baniaka Green® #ironore products for a further 18 months to 30 June 2027. Baowu is the world’s largest steelmaker. bit.ly/4b4OUV2

Genmin has signed a binding MoU with leading Chinese infrastructure company Sinohydro, PowerChina's immediate subsidiary, for the development & construction of ASX: GEN's Baniaka iron ore project in Gabon, which includes Sinohydro assisting with the procurement of funding for Baniaka. The foundation of China & Gabon's comprehensive, strategic cooperative partnership is based on 50 years of diplomatic relations and political mutual trust. China's President Xi Jinping has congratulated Mr Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema on his recent election as President of the Republic of Gabon and expressed the importance of China-Gabon relations for the benefit of both countries.

On Saturday, 12 April 2025, #Gabon voted to elect @oliguinguema Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema as President, with an overwhelming 90% of votes cast in his favour, in a contest against seven other presidential candidates. Gabon's Presidential Election was peaceful, overseen by international observers and with more than 70% of voter turnout. The provisional result is pending validation by the Constitutional Court, and the President Elect is expected to be inaugurated before the end of April 2025. We have signed a mining convention with the Gabon Government for our 100% owned Baniaka iron ore project. This significant milestone & catalyst provides important protections & fiscal stabilisation for an investment of this nature and paves the way to secure project development capital. His Excellence, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, the President of the Transition and Head of State of the Republic of Gabon personally officiated a signing ceremony at the Presidential Palace on 20 March 2025 where Gabon’s Minister of Mines, The Honourable Gilles Nembe, & the Minister of Economy, The Honourable Mark-Alexandre Doumba formally signe the Baniaka Mining Convention. lnkd.in/gBR_9_bV

@GenminASX hosted senior Gabon Government officials at our 100% owned Baniaka iron ore project last Friday. The delegation led by @MinesGabon , Hon Gilles Nembe, accompanied by special advisor in charge of infrastructure to His Excellence, President Brice Oligui Nguema, were at Baniaka to inspect ongoing construction projects, including important work underway on our new haul road, which will be used to transport iron ore from the future mine, to Franceville. Minister Nembe also met with Genmin’s local workforce before touring the facilities and the future mining area. In Gabon, the Minister of Mines oversees negotiation of the Mining Convention between the State and the Company, outlining mutual obligations & commitments for legal, fiscal, financial, economic, customs, social, environmental, and technical matters. Negotiations are nearing completion with Minister Nembe for Baniaka’s Mining Convention, which Genmin anticipates will be finalised and signed during the current quarter.
