United Downs geothermal fluid rises from the UK’s deepest well (>5km) at 140°C with >340 ppm lithium carbonate, one of the world’s highest. After power generation it cools to 50°C for extraction. GEL aims for >18,000 t/yr, enough for circa 250,000 EV batteries.
