Not only have we reduced amputation prevalence by 48% in 6 years but for diabetic foot ulcers… 1. Time to first expert assessment (<14 days) is 80% (40% nationally) 2. Alive and Ulcer free at 12 weeks for severe ulcers is 60% (30% nationally) We’ve shown you can see non-diabetic foot ulcers AND leg ulcers in a ‘diabetic’ foot clinic without compromising diabetes care. We’re proud that our system change over the past few years is yielding such positive results. We’ve done all this within existing resource and not employed any extra staff. How? We worked hard to listen, co-design change, build networks and address the barriers to change.
