I am not complaining. I am stating the facts. Tidal has no bearing on if a DJ and artist link up lol. DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince can still stream together. DJ Drama can stream music as well. Nothing is stopping it other than their choice. Streaming only affects the splits, but that can also be worked out. And no, it was specifically about breakdancing. That is tied DIRECTLY to hip hop since it is a specific style of dance.

@bangwithcamino @Watson3172 Alot of what you are complaining about Jay helped usher in. Dancing is the pillar, not breakdancing. Didn't go anywhere. Every rapper tours and performs with a dj, and their role has transformed, like mc's did. Streaming killed mixtapes. Tidal helped.

You can pretend he's out of touch, but nothing he said was wrong. The Olympics had break dancing, and it was the MOST watered down version of it. It isn't popularized anymore or at the forefront of hip hop. Rappers do not partner with DJs as much anymore, if at all. Mixtapes by DJs aren't as common as they used to be. There are no popular rap duos of DJ and a rapper. Being pop/house/techno DJ is more popular than a hip hop one. Graffiti is now gentrified modern art for artist like Banksy or Monopoly, or prioritized in select areas, especially overseas, but not embedded in the culture like it once was.
