One of my closest friends is a concrete man. He runs crews for the union. I take care of his Dodge truck and continue to bait him into letting me build a classic for him. He is a very talented man who lays concrete with the best and does amazing work. He likes me because I represent the automotive version of what he does.

I built an 8500 rpm 13:1 compression 454 that was bored .060 over. This was back in the 90s. I could change the valve adjustment by .001 and it would change the overall upper and lower power curve. Fact is with that engine is that I could change the exhaust header tips from 12-18 inches and it would change the power curve. That was a full 3/4 lift cam of course. It was an NHRA Super Pro thing, all love of labor, beers and launches from the line. I’m definitely in the know.

@GravityPimp I have a Boss 351 Cleveland with .600 lift mechanical roller cam in it. 720 degrees of rotation is what it takes to adjust all the valve on my engine. My valves have to be close. I only have .072 of exhaust valve to piston clearance with 3/8 diameter Manley pushrods. So I know!

This engine was missing the timing tab, which is odd. I installed a new one and brought the engine to top dead center on #1. Now I can start adjusting the valves in numerical firing order. I'll set the number 1 valves, then rotate the crank 90 degrees and adjust number 8, continuing until I have turned the crank two full revolutions. At that point all the valves will be adjusted.

It would appear so. My take is that way back in the late 70s there was a tank war between Israel and Egypt. Coincidentally, I was with the 82nd Airborne in 1984 doing a peacekeeping mission in the Sinai Desert upholding that treaty. My understanding is Iran got pissed about something and began chanting “Death to America,” and then 9/11 happened. Iran cheered when those buildings came down, became emboldened, and made threats. Certain U.S. presidents caved to these threats and sent billions of dollars in appeasement. Iran built more weapons and began pursuing nuclear aspirations, all the while working on intercontinental ballistic missile technology. Then along came President Trump, who gave them an ultimatum: live free and in peace or die. Iranian leadership hasn’t adjusted to the new terms, which is sad, but I for one am tired of living under the threat of terrorists and fully support the direction the President is going.
