HCSO Bomb Unit is hosting Manual Neutralization Training. If an Improvised Explosives Devices can’t be handled by remote, manual EOD techniques are essential. Safety and survivability are enhanced when one possesses and confidently executes these advanced render safe skills.

HCSO Crisis Negotiation Team is at the 2025 NTOA CNT conference in Chandler Arizona. They are meeting with negotiators all over the world and sharing information and skill sets in the world of negotiations. Today they met with negotiators from Ukraine.

Since 2018, he’s served HCSO with a drive to grow and give back, from patrol deputy and firearms instructor to his current role as a Public Safety Bomb Technician. He also serves as a Swift Water Rescue Swimmer, always ready to answer the call. @HCSOTexas

Deputy Manteca is a Master Peace Officer & Bomb Technician with expertise ranging from explosive breaching to radiological & nuclear threat response. He works with the FBI’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Task Force, keeping Harris County safe at the highest level!

Since 2013, Deputy Torres has served with the HCSO with dedication, from patrol to becoming a SWAT operator, explosive breacher, and FBI-certified bomb technician. He also lends his skills as a public safety diver, always ready to step in when the community needs him.

Since 2002, Deputy Barron has worn many hats at HCSO, from patrol and training new deputies to now serving as a Tactical Bomb Technician. His experience and steady presence help keep Harris County safe every day.

Today SWAT, Bomb Unit, Crisis Negotiations, and Emergency Management partnered with OxyChem to conduct scenario based training. Preparation and participation with our local chemical plants is a must to keep our community safe in case of major incidents.
