Yoshi-P says it has become harder for younger people to engage with the Final Fantasy series because the release intervals for new titles have gotten longer!
"I'm 53 now, and I've been playing since Final Fantasy 1 in real time. But for younger generations – people who grew up naturally accustomed to action-based combat and online competitive play – the recent entries in the series may have been harder to engage with.

I know boost mode for the numbered games is a bigger and more necessary upgrade, but as someone who played a lot of OG X on the gamepad, getting to see any version of that game in real 1080 on a handheld is like stepping into another dimension entirely

[Nintendo Switch 2 System Update] Version 22.0.0 adds "Handheld Mode Boost". This will make Switch 1 games think that they are in TV mode even when in handheld. Games can run at higher resolutions in TV mode, taking better advantage of the Switch 2's 1080p screen.

I do hope if Fate/Extra Record takes this long, they just port the original to modern platforms especially when what we've seen so far already has story deviations.
