It's very important that the good guys are brutally honest about everything and do not give into our own cognitive dissonance. The NYPD DID change the way it reports hate incidents (now only reporting confirmed hate crimes, not simply reported ones). However, this is the way that the FBI and nearly every city across the country also reports hate incidents. The NYPD was actually the outlier, previously. Reporting more hate incidents than ended up being the case. There are PLENTY of things to criticize our clearly antisemitic mayor for. We should never use misleading narratives. Hate crime numbers are absolutely NOT being fudged. The fact of the matter is that the number of hate crimes against Jews are still skyrocketing and are still higher under Mamdani. I trust the NYPD and @NYPDPC and after researching this issue, it is clear that the way they are now calculating hate incidents is the right way.

Nations have adopted different inventions, political systems, and institutions from various cultures and time periods throughout history. Not every nation hosts an annual gathering in its capital to celebrate that. Stuff like this isn’t universal, and it’s not even common. As an American, I don’t personally care about Greece’s history, or any other country’s for that matter, except my own. So I don’t really see the need for events like this. No malice, just my viewpoint.
