@miserabiliter @andrewsillett S cheery, T wary: does Cicero bring carefree joy, while Seneca and Lucretius a considered and cautious approach ? The car speeds along, perhaps symbolic of time flying (tempus fugit). Two years have gone by so fast ! 2/2

@miserabiliter @andrewsillett Well, there's LOTS to unpack here .... 🙂 Dr Sillett in mellower tone, with green aspect: now celebrating the land as well as the sky. Dr Taylor switching from mustard-green to dark blue: moving from the farm to the sea, perhaps ? 1/2

@miserabiliter @andrewsillett Yes, there may only ever be two photos of the classical road trip to The Fens: - like fragments of a lyric poet - or the only two recordings by a legendary rock group I get it: - things move on, new zeitgeist - keep the enigma - difficult to recreate that classic sound 🎸🎵

@miserabiliter @andrewsillett Have been enjoying your classical tweets, Barnaby 🙂 Interesting to read insights into views on authors eg Lucretius, Seneca 'vos exemplaria Graeca nocturna versate manu, versate diurna' 'Peruse the Greek exemplars by night and by day' - and of course, Roman, too

The record for this rescued dog at the shelter said she liked two things: water and sand. So the first thing her new owner did after adopting her was take her to the beach…

The English choral tradition is central to the nation's cultural heritage. How can we safeguard it for future generations? As I wrote this morning for the @Telegraph, by empowering the Parish Church. (Link below)

@andrewsillett @Telegraph Nowadays there isn't much singing in British culture: really only at football matches and in churches. We don't sing much: we've become shy about it. We used to sing more, in pubs and sitting rooms. But we do listen to music a lot on radio, internet and streaming.
