Absolutely!!! Why are we STILL requiring students to take foreign language in high school when there is virtually no benefit. Do high schoolers become fluent in the foreign language? No. Does it have a high ROI on cognitive development and brain health? Also no. Students’ brains would benefit more from 60 minutes of aerobic exercise than from sitting in a foreign language class. Also, we all have translators in our pockets. This is one of the many requirements in education whose time has expired. Public ed must stop wasting students’ time.

Clacton constituents might like to know that Farage’s substantial time commitment to outside work exceeds the time he has devoted to core parliamentary duties. Farage has voted in only about a third of divisions, significantly below the average for MPs, placing him near the bottom among his peers. He has also spoken far less frequently in the House than other party leaders, making just 45 speeches in his first year, compared with over 200 for the Tory leader and 90–150+ for Liberal Democrat and Green leaders! His overall debate contributions place him in the bottom 10–15% of all MPs! Exact hours spent in his Clacton constituency are not officially recorded, but his limited parliamentary engagement and heavy focus on second jobs suggest he devotes considerably less time to both Westminster and his local constituency responsibilities than the average MP.

A citizen brought us a puppy he found near his home after it had been attacked by other dogs. The poor pup was suffering from severe trauma to the lower jaw and teeth, loosened gums, eye infections, and oral infections.
