its because Trump does NOT own the White House.. Trump is only a guest in there while he's President. he has NO right to alter anything in it without approval from its owner, which in this case, is Congress... its like if you rent an apartment and decide to make alterations the landlord knows nothing about. you can't do that, so why would Trump believe it'd be okay for him to do it to a government owned residence??? i really hope when they'll rebuild the East Wing that Trump tore down, they send the bill to Trump and his organization to recoup expenditures..
